Position DescriptionThe Guest Services Supervisor (Shift MOD) plays a vital role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maintaining operational excellence within the resort's guest services department. This position requires a strong background in hospitality, leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding the resort's standards of service excellence.

This description documents the general nature and level of work. As business needs change, so will the elements of this job, requiring the incumbent to be adaptable and to perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all Guest Services responsibilities.
• Assists Guest Services Manager with maintaining a competent and motivated team, creating a learning environment which maximizes productivity, skill development and Guest Services team retention.
• Maintains a calm and positive demeanor when confronted with difficult situations, to set a positive example for team members.
• Assists with scheduling and training of Guest Service Agents.
• Follows operational policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols, to ensure a safe environment for team members and guests.
• Follows proper cash handling procedures and accurately complete cash drawer, accounting, cash-out, and close-of-shift procedures.
• Assists in overseeing the activities of all shift team members. This involves evaluating individual performance as well as fostering overall group cooperation.
• Supports team members by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful and encouraging coaching, as needed.
• Perform routine walkabout, monitor activity, look for and address safety/security/guest issues, etc.
• Assists with check-in and check-out of guests in a confident, professional, and friendly manner.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all resort features/services, room rates and the daily house count.
• Maintains awareness of any special groups or activities on the property.
• Maintains a consistent presence at the front desk.
• Projects an approachable and professional image in personal appearance, hygiene, and demeanor.
• Responds to inquiries regarding services and room issues; attempt to resolve guest service issues and/or elevate to the Guest Services Manager when matters are outside scope or ability.
• Serves as an informational liaison to other departments by providing updates guest arrivals, departures, and evolving needs.
• Understands first aid/emergency procedures and be able to direct guests accordingly.
• Incorporate the resort’s culture of service excellence, mission, and core values into all aspects of job performance.
• Performs the duties of Concierge, as needed to enhance guest experiences.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of hospitality experience, preferably in a resort setting.
• High school diploma (or equivalent); hospitality degree or certificate a plus.
• Computer skills, experience and aptitude to include MS Office software and property management systems. Knowledge of Agilysys a plus.
• Supervisory experience in the hospitality industry a plus.
• Reliability, punctuality, and professional communication skills are critical.
• Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience and customer service.
• Accurate cash handling skills required.
• Highly responsible, reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to consistently exercise common sense and good judgment in decision making.
• Strong team player and dedicated to the mission of the Company.
• Strong conflict resolution skills and able to maintain composure when dealing with difficult and irate customers.
• CPR and first aid certification a plus; willing to be trained in same.
• Safety conscious at all times.
• Available to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays required.
• Ability to walk or stand and move about the resort (both indoors and outdoors) for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; and the ability to speak and communicate in a professional manner.
